The Marvel Universe is a shared universe where stories by Marvel Entertainment take place. Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009 for $4 billion, has seen an impressive return on its investment. The Super-Heros which live in this universe include the Avengers (Iron man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America), Spiderman, and numerous others. Marvel’s box-office record on these films have grossed more than $10 billion globally, not including the billions more in revenue it has generated from toys, apparel and accessories merchandise. Marvel movies have been dominating the box office every summer. There is no doubt Marvel is leaving thousands of new brand advocates in their wake. The Marvel universe is a powerful force to be reckoned with.
